Netscape and Microsoft Internet

frames. However, you can cover your bases by including
both the BORDER (Netscape) and the FRAMEBORDER
and FRAMESPACING (Microsoft) attributes in your
<FRAMESET> tag. Example:
<FRAMESET COLS="25%,50%,25%" BORDER="0"

Q: I copied my site using Site Copier
and it doesn't look the same. What went wrong?
There are a few situations in
which you will need to make changes to your site
before it will work properly in your FreeServers
web site. Please check the following:
-
On many web servers, the
filename for your home page is something other
than "index.html". It might be "default.htm"
or "home.html" or something else. What you
need to do is find your home page and rename
it to ""index.html"." You will also need to
find any links to your home page using the
old file name and change them to "index.html".
(You must do the same for any sub-directories
as well.) You can use the File
Manager 2.0 to rename the files. (If you
have an older browser or one that cannot use
Java, you can use the Old
File Manager.)
-
If there are spaces in
your file names or directory names, the links
may not work. You can use the File
Manager 2.0 to rename the files. (If you
have an older browser or one that cannot use
Java, you can use the Old
File Manager.)
-
If the pages used a CGI
script on your old server, they will not work
because FreeServers does not allow any CGI
scripts other than the standard ones that
we offer. The scripts we do have available
are quite powerful and very flexible. The
Form E-mailer script can be configured by
you to e-mail the results of a form, store
information on your web site, and do many
other things.
-
Certain file types, such
as ".ASP" files, are not supported by FreeServers.
You'll have to change them to more conventional
HTML files.
-
Microsoft Front Page extensions
and SSI (Server Side Includes) are not supported
by FreeServers. You'll have to change them
to more conventional HTML files.
