Ramesh is my true friend. He is also my next-door
neighbour. We are close chums. We go to school
together. We come home together. We play together.
However, we are not similar. We are different.
Ramesh is quit. He does not talk much. He cannot
enjoy jokes. He is studious. He is always well-prepared
and well-behaved. He is a first- class student.
He is not sociable. He avoids company. I am perhaps
his only friend. He is lean.
On the other hand, I am a noisy
talker. I am very fond of telling and hearing
jokes. I laugh loud and long. To me, work and
play are equally important. I love both books
and games. I am a second-class student. I hate
loneliness. I am always after company. I am tall
and well-built. Ramesh eats little. I am a hearty
eater.
Yet we like each other well.
Perhaps our differences are at the back of our
friendship. Unlike poles attract each other. Our
views on things are also different. You will find
us often arguing, debating and almost fighting.
But every little quarrel brings us closer. True
friendship can never be broken.
